What do I need to know about the dry ice in my delivery?Updated 6 days ago
We use dry ice to help keep your food frozen during transit. At -78.5°C, it’s an efficient way of maintaining the temperature of your meals while they’re on their way to you.
The amount of dry ice used may vary depending on the outside temperature and expected conditions. In cooler temperatures, your box may contain one pack of dry ice, while in warmer conditions we use two.
Dry ice evaporates over time, so it may have completely disappeared by the time you open your box, leaving only the recyclable paper casing. This is completely normal.
If there is still dry ice remaining when your box arrives, it’s very important to follow the instructions below, as dry ice is extremely cold and can cause burns if handled incorrectly:
- Do not touch dry ice with bare hands.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Using a double-folded tea towel or thick gloves, move the dry ice, still inside its recyclable paper casing, to one side.
- Remove your products and store them in the freezer.
- Leave the dry ice in the delivery box in a well-ventilated area until it has completely evaporated.
- Once the dry ice has completely evaporated, recycle the empty packaging.
Please note that Lune & Wild cannot accept liability for harm, injury or damage caused by the improper handling of dry ice.
